The Thymes grew out of a simple love of nature, a passion for art, and a desire to help women and men find beauty and balance in their lives.
Founded in 1982 by two women seeking a better understanding of the ingredients listed on the backs of beauty products.

Unsatisfied with what they found, they decided to conduct a little "kitchen chemistry" by concocting richly fragrant products, blended from ingredients they either grew themselves, bought at the farmer's markets, or found in specialty shops.
